School safety initiatives are often largely focused on physical safety; however, that isn't all there is to it. Safety is also emotional, social, and intellectual safety. Schools must be set up to ensure safety that supports the whole child. Safety that protects against internal threats as well as external. When schools strive to ensure safety that ensures inclusivity,
awareness, and connections that school is safer for everyone, staff and students alike.
We got an incredible opportunity to be guests on "Take Care Tuesday" with the Center for Safe Secure Schools, Division of Harris County Dept. of Education. We discussed practical
ways schools can promote safety through connections and a positive school climate.
